It is an intensive educational program designed to deepen your personal practice and provide the technical skills necessary to teach yoga professionally. Whether you are looking to change careers or simply want to understand the “why” behind the poses, these courses offer a structured path into the ancient science of yoga
Core Curriculum:
Styles of Yoga (Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin etc.) may vary according to the need & eligibility of the students, but a registered curriculum of YTTCs typically covers five key areas:
Techniques, Training And Practice:
- Asanas (Postures): deep dives into the alignments, benefits, and risks of various poses
- Pranayama & Meditation: Learning breath control & balancing
- Shatkarma: Traditional cleansing techniques (kriyas) to purify body & rejuvenate mind.
Anatomy & Physiology:
- Physical Anatomy & Physiology: Understanding the skeletal and muscular systems to prevent injuries.
- Energy Anatomy & Physiology: Study the Chakras (energy centres), Nadis (energy channels), & Prana (life force).
Yoga Philosophy & Ethics:
- Ancient Texts: Studying the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagwad Gita, Hatha Pradipika, Gherand Samhita and other important Yogic Texbooks.
- The 8 Limbs of Yoga: Moving beyond the physical (Asana) to explore Yamas (ethics), Niyamas (self-discipline), etc
- Sacred Mantras: to learn what are the important mantras in Yoga and others for day to day life, through chanting together and experiencing its after-effects on mind & body
Teaching Methodology:
- Sequencing: How to build a class that flows logically and safely from warm-up to peak poses.
- Adjustments: Learning “hands-on” assists to help students find better alignments of each and every poses.
- Yoga as a Profession: Basics of marketing, professional ethics and techniques to start-ups, future scopes.
